Love at first flight for baby
A Shetland woman yesterday gave birth to a baby boy – 1,000ft above the earth.
Iona Williamson was in the late stages of labour when she was picked up from her home on Unst by Shetland coastguard helicopter in the early hours of the morning.
But despite the transfer to Lerwick’s Gilbert Bain Hospital taking just 20 minutes, 18-year-old Miss Williamson gave birth above a place called Lunna Holm at 6.30am.
