North’s rise in racism is ‘highest in Scotland’

The Highlands and islands has recorded the highest increase in racist incidents in Scotland, according to new figures.
Statistics released by the Scottish Government yesterday showed the first increase in racist incidents across the country for five years, up 10% over the year.
Just two police forces showed reductions – Grampian and Tayside at 8% and 5% respectively.
