Council backs turbine plan without site visit

ANTI-WINDFARM campaigners criticised Highland Council last night after members backed plans for turbines in the hills above Loch Ness.

Councillors agreed not to raise an objection to Scottish and Southern Energy’s plan for a windfarm on the Glen Moriston Estate at Invermoriston.

Last night, one anti-windfarm campaigner raised concerns that the council’s decision on the Bhlaraidh project was based on a “desktop study” after councillors narrowly voted against a site visit.
