‘Fantasist’ put behind bars over bomb alert

A YOUNG man who triggered a major bomb alert in a north-east town, causing “substantial disruption”, has been locked up for three years.
Dozens of homes and businesses at Banff were evacuated after explosive-making materials were uncovered at Connor Ward’s town-centre flat.
The 20-year-old’s mother raised the alarm after finding a copy of the Do-it-yourself Gunpowder Cookbook among bottles of chemicals at her son’s rubbish-strewn home in Water Lane.
