Airport ‘priority’ for first phase of AWPR

THE first sections of the Aberdeen bypass to be completed could be new links to the city’s airport and dualling of the A90 stretch from Balmedie to Tipperty, which is also included in the project.

Transport Minister Keith Brown has revealed officials are investigating whether those key parts of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR) can be opened before the planned completion date of 2018.

Aberdeen City Council leader Barney Crockett confirmed last night that moving quickly to ease congestion around the airport at Dyce was the local authority’s priority.
