Hockey sponsorship deal breaks new ground
The worlds of global investment and Scottish hockey seem miles apart, but with a recent sponsorship deal from Aberdeen Asset Management, those worlds are about to collide.
The ground-breaking contract with Scottish Hockey has allowed the organisation to appoint three professional head coaches to work with selected national league clubs on a full-time basis. Sandy Keith, from Aberdeen, Chris Anderson, from Dundee, and John McKnight, from Glasgow, will be taking on the coaching challenge and trying to encourage more young people to get involved in the competitive sport.
Marking the largest investment yet in the development and growth of hockey in Scotland, the new deal aims to increase the quality and standard of players, leading to stronger National League competitions in Scotland, and ultimately increasing Scotland’s competitiveness at international level.
