Butcher aims to frustrate the SPL January bargain hunters with new deals

Caley Thistle manager Terry Butcher expects to complete a new two-year contract extension for defender Josh Meekings before the January transfer window opens.

The 20-year-old former Ipswich Town academy graduate, pictured, becomes a free agent in the summer, but Butcher is keen to seal a fresh deal in the next two weeks.

Meekings, who has formed a superb central defensive partnership with Gary Warren, is high on Butcher’s list of priorities.
