Schools close and cars crash in snow havoc

WHITE-OUT conditions caused havoc across the north-east yesterday as cars crashed and schools and roads were closed.

A total of 80 schools across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire were forced to shut their doors and more than 100 were disrupted after the Arctic conditions blasted Grampian.

Meanwhile, dozens of people were snowed in after around 4ft of snow built up around their homes.
