City house price surge among highest in UK

HOUSE prices in Inverness have soared by more than 80% in the past decade – the second-biggest rise in the UK.
The new University of the Highlands and Islands, developments in the renewable energy industry and the quality of life on offer in the area are all being credited for the huge increase.
The city was beaten only by Aberdeen, where prices rose by 94% over the past 10 years.
