Driver accused of bid to murder policemen

A MAN has gone on trial accused of trying to murder three police officers by speeding at them in a stolen BMW.

Robert Wemyss is charged with pursuing their police vehicle while repeatedly trying to cause a crash.

It is alleged he tried to kill the Grampian Police constables after colliding with their vehicle. He is accused of driving at speed towards Richard Greaves, Michael Griffiths and Scott Longthorn after they got out of the car.
