Full steam ahead for bid to reopen train line

Aberdeenshire councillors have made a firm commitment to investigate the feasibility of reopening one of the region’s disused railway lines.

The Formartine and Buchan line linking Aberdeen with Ellon, Fraserburgh and Peterhead, was closed in 1979.

Passenger services had stopped ending in the 1960s.
