Independence could cause domino effect across Europe

Scottish independence would trigger a “domino effect” across Europe and jeopardise crucial deals on climate change and trade, a senior Liberal Democrat has warned.

Sir Malcolm Bruce fears that nations and regions across the continent would attempt to follow Scotland’s lead, creating several new states which are less likely to agree on key global challenges.

“We will all end up fighting our corner while the planet is on fire,” he claimed.
