House market back on the rise

House prices in Aberdeen increased by 5% last year and the total number of properties sold across the north and north-east has also risen.

New homeowners in the city paid on average £196,175 in the final quarter last year compared with £186,847 for the same period in 2011.

Average prices in Aberdeenshire rose from £200,872 in 2011 to £205,786 for 2012 and in Moray prices increased by 4.9% from £138,792 to £145,567.
