SNP agrees change to ‘biased’ wording over referendum

The Scottish Government has agreed to change the wording of the independence referendum ballot.

The SNP administration said it would accept all the recommendations of the Electoral Commission which ruled that ministers’ preferred option was biased towards a “yes” vote.

The independent electoral watchdog took a close look at the wording amid concerns it would let the SNP “rig” the result of next year’s ballot.
