NHS Grampian in hand-wash blow

More than one in 10 medical staff in the north-east are failing to meet strict hand-hygiene rules aimed at reducing the spread of infections such as norovirus and flu.
Health Protection Scotland figures released yesterday showed only 88% of NHS Grampian staff complied with the measures during an audit at the end of November — the worst rate in Scotland.
The snapshot figure is in contrast to compliance rates of 96% between September 24 and October 5 last year and 99% between May 21 and June 1.
