So classic Gallacher is eagle of the desert

Press and Journal columnist Stephen Gallacher yesterday ended an eight-year search for a second career victory with a three-shot win in the Dubai Desert Classic.

On a day of strong winds in the desert, Gallacher’s one-under-par 71 was enough to take him to 22-under-par 266 and see off a strong challenge from South African playing partner Richard Sterne, who also shot a 71.
