‘Open all hours’ bid to cut back surgery waiting list

PLANS are being drafted for surgeons to perform routine operations seven days a week and in the evenings to cut patient waiting times.
NHS Grampian approved plans yesterday to instal new operating theatres at two Aberdeen hospitals in an attempt to ensure all patients are treated within 12 weeks of seeing their GP.
The three new theatres – two at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) and one at Woodend Hospital – are expected to be operational by the end of the year.
