Jail builders face bill for damaging homes

THE construction firm behind a new north-east superjail could be landed with a huge repair bill for damage to nearby homes, it has emerged.

Work on the £140million prison at Peterhead is entering its final phase and is on target to finish before the summer.

However, residents living in the shadow of the new prison have criticised building firm Skanska.
