The climber who died in horrendous conditions in the Cairngorms has been named as Graham Connell, a school technician from Leeds.

Mr Connell, 31, fell in the Jacob’s Ladder area of Coire an t-Sneachda on Sunday. It is understood that he may have been trying to reach a member of his seven-strong party who fell in the area earlier on.

The original fallen climber was able to make his own way off the hill with guidance by phone.
