Survey gives much-needed boost to ‘Yes’ campaigners

The campaign for Scottish independence has received a boost after a new poll revealed a rise in support for the first time in about a year.

The survey of 1,003 Scots by Ipsos Mori showed 34% were now in favour of the nation going it alone — an increase of 4% since October.

The finding comes in contrast to the Scottish Social Attitudes Survey last month, which revealed just 23% supported independence, the lowest level since devolution in 1999.
