Fight for school jobs in face of new cuts threat

MORAY Council’s leader issued a stark warning yesterday that more “radical” cuts will be made to public services and facilities in the near future.

Allan Wright said that savings being made in 2013-14 were “but a start” to the more extensive proposals being lined up by the authority’s administration to trim £30million within four years.

After a lengthy debate, councillors approved a raft of measures which will shave £7million from the budget for 2013-14.
