Scallop series leaves Hugh in hot water

Celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall sailed into a row with Scotland’s fishermen last night as he launched a broadside at the lucrative scallop trade.

Industry leaders accused him of presenting a “distorted” picture of the way their members catch the prized molluscs.

They criticised him for an “inaccurate and negative” portrayal of scallop fishermen amid fears his outburst will heap more pressure on policy-makers.
