Premier occasion is pure sporting theatre

Exhilarating, exciting and engrossing – this was sporting theatre at its most pure and entertaining.

They came from far and wide – many in fancy dress – for the annual pilgrimage to the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre to watch the tungsten titans of the darting world do battle in the Premier League Darts.

It was no surprise that the tickets for this year's event sold out on the first day, with the small batches of additional seats released in the following weeks also eagerly snapped up.
