‘Doctor saved my life after arm ripped off’

A GRAIN store worker thought he was going to die in an accident which cost him part of his arm.

John Thomson said he was “lucky to be alive” after the horrific incident – and owed his life to the doctor who performed an amputation in the pitch dark.

The 56-year-old and his wife have now started a drive to raise money for the specialist medical team which came to his aid.
