Golden sands and dolphins earn beach top tourism title

They may not have the sunshine or sizzling temperatures, but six north and north-east beaches have been named among the best in the UK.
Tourists now rate the golden sands of Nairn as Scotland’s top seaside destination.
Harris’s Luskentyre, Calgary Bay on Mull, Balmedie Beach in Aberdeenshire and Colonsay’s Kiloran Beach have also been praised in a worldwide poll. Camusdarach Beach at Arisaig – which is under threat from a housing development – also makes the list, which has been compiled by TripAdvisor.
