Milestone for A9 dualling project
Spades will finally hit the ground next month as part of work to upgrade one of Scotland’s most dangerous roads to dual carriageway.
Transport Minister Keith Brown said a £1.3million contract for groundwork investigations on the Inverness-Perth A9 scheme was being awarded to a Staffordshire-based company called Environmental Scientifics Group, subject to a mandatory standstill period.
The news represents a significant step forward in the Scottish Government’s plans to invest £3billion on dualling an 80-mile stretch of the road by 2025.
