Spades will finally hit the ground next month as part of work to upgrade one of Scotland’s most dangerous roads to dual carriageway.

Transport Minister Keith Brown said a £1.3million contract for groundwork investigations on the Inverness-Perth A9 scheme was being awarded to a Staffordshire-based company called Environmental Scientifics Group, subject to a mandatory standstill period.
