Shake-up to improve school’s exam score

AN EMERGENCY action plan has been drawn up to motivate youngsters and tackle “depressing” exam results at an underachieving north-east school.

Peterhead Academy pupils face a timetable shake-up – with fewer but longer lessons – in a 25-point strategy aimed at improving attainment.

Teachers will be offered extra training and more focus will be placed on raising pupils’ aspirations.
