Traffic chaos after man badly injured in crash

DRIVERS faced rush-hour traffic chaos after a road was closed for most of the day following a serious crash.

A driver had to be cut free from his car early yesterday after being involved in a collision with a lorry on the A952 Toll of Birness-Mintlaw route, a mile north of the junction with the A90 Aberdeen-Peterhead road.

The 42-year-old man driving a black Skoda Octavia vRS was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious head and chest injuries after the road crash, which happened about 1am.
