A DISABLED woman has made a desperate plea to be let back into her own home after cuts to care in the community forced her out.

Kathleen Robertson has been living in a care home in the north-east for the past five weeks after her care-at-home providers, Raeburn Healthcare, pulled her service. The 60-year-old, who has multiple sclerosis, is paralysed from the neck down but has been living on her own in a specially-modified flat for three years.

Aberdeenshire Council social workers said they were are unable to find the former nurse a suitable replacement service and that their own carers cannot take her on. They said there was no option but to move her into Auchtercrag Care home in Commercial Road – just two streets away from her own flat at Modley House in Ellon.
