Taking the lead at new police division

The former head of CID at Grampian Police will lead major crime investigations for Scotland’s single police force.

Detective Chief Superintendent Campbell Thomson has been appointed to one of the five senior roles within Police Scotland’s Specialist Crime Division (SCD). The new unit will begin operations today in advance of the official April 1 launch.

Mr Thomson has worked for Grampian Police for 22 years and will be responsible for the investigation of serious crimes and all homicides.
