United seething after defeat

Real Madrid took advantage of a controversial red for midfielder Nani to knock Manchester United out of the Champions League thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo's winning goal.

A tight game came to life in the second half when Nani's cross was deflected into his own goal by Spain international defender Sergio Ramos.

The Portuguese was soon controversially dismissed for a high boot and Luka Modric struck a stunning equaliser which went in off the post.
