Mount Etna comes alive
Europe’s highest active volcano sent plumes of ash and lava into the sky above the Mediterranean island of Sicily yesterday.
The eruption of Mount Etna in the early hours of Wednesday is believed to have been the seventh this year.
Increased explosive activity has been recorded by Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology.
