Shetland books place in TV history

It recently hit the headlines worldwide thanks to a dancing pony moonwalking to the music of Fleetwood Mac. But come Sunday, Shetland will experience its biggest TV showcase to date.

Scottish actor Dougie Henshall and Shetland-born actor Steven Robertson take on the roles of characters Detective Jimmy Perez and Constable Sandy Wilson, in the adaptation of crime writer Ann Cleeves’s novel Red Bones.

The book is part of a quartet by the author, which are all set on Shetland, and have received high praise and accolades.

In January, the author launched the fifth book in her Shetland series and, with the TV adaptation on its way, islanders hope it will lead to a tourism and economic boost.
