Black seal set for sea return

A rare black seal pup has been found underweight and struggling to survive on Aberdeen beach.

The creature has been named Liquorice because of his dark coat and is now recovering at the Scottish SPCA’s National Wildlife Rescue Centre at Fishcross near Alloa.

The young sea mammal is actually a grey seal and staff at the centre were surprised how black his coat is.
