A9 petition gathers momentum

A petition urging ministers to speed up work to dual Scotland’s most notorious road has been signed by 20,000 people.

Tory MSP Murdo Fraser said people from across the UK had sent a “clear message” to the Scottish Government that the A9 Inverness-Perth project must be completed before 2025.

Ministers have said that “substantive” work on the £3billion project to upgrade 80 miles of road will not start until 2015.
