Panic as bat-wielding thug invaded campus

A YOUNG man caused panic when he charged into a busy north-east college armed with a baseball bat.

Shocked students took cover when John Downie turned up at Banff and Buchan College’s main Fraserburgh campus and started shouting threats while swinging the bat around his head.

The 22-year-old chased Jamie Shaw into the building in May last year.
