Bedroom tax jail vow over benefit blow

An Inverness man has vowed to go to jail rather than pay an extra £10 a week in council house rent when his benefits are cut due to the so-called bedroom tax.

Peter Papworth, 38, received a letter from Highland Council stating that he and his disabled 27-year-old wife, Amanda, would have to find an extra £10 a week because they have a spare room at their two-bedroom home in Birchwood Brae in Inverness.
