Million reasons to be happy

Ethiopian Hailu Million edged out local favourite Joe Symonds in a thrilling finish to yesterday’s Global Energy Inverness half marathon which attracted an entry of more than 2,000 runners.

Inverness-based Symonds, a member of Hunters Bog Trotters, led with 250 metres to go, but Million timed his final effort to perfection and sprinted clear over the final 100m on the Queen’s Park Stadium track to lift the £1,000 top prize in 1hr 6min 22sec.
