Anger as charges ruled out over copter deaths

No one will be prosecuted over the North Sea helicopter crash that claimed the lives of 16 men – a decision branded “disgraceful” by grieving relatives last night.

All 14 passengers and two crew died when their Super Puma suffered a catastrophic gearbox failure in April 2009.

The fatal flaws that led to the tragedy have since been laid bare by air crash investigators.
