Big freeze chaos to last another month

COMMUNITIES were cut off yesterday as blizzards blocked north-east roads – and forecasters have warned the snow could be here for another month.

Eleven routes in Grampian were closed by drifting snow as the winter weather continued to batter the north and north-east. And 12 people were caught up in an avalanche that thundered down in the Cairngorms.

A Met Office severe weather warning remains in place today.
