Fireman quizzed over huge blaze on hillside
A SERVING fireman has been quizzed by police investigating a blaze in the west Highlands that destroyed acres of heathland.
The incident near Strontian happened during a spate of wildfires across the north – and just days after another massive blaze threatened to engulf the village.
A 39-year-old man, named locally as retained firefighter David MacKay, was held in custody by police over the weekend.
