Drowning tragedy mother was ‘a really lovely person’
A mother who drowned apparently trying to rescue her son from the sea while on holiday in the Western Isles was yesterday described as a “lovely person”.
Rosemary Wickstead, 45, was flown to hospital by helicopter after the incident on Traigh Mhor on the west coast of Harris on Monday night but attempts to revive her failed.
Mrs Wickstead was holidaying with her GP husband David, and her three children, Luke, 12, nine-year-old Samuel and Joseph who is six from their home in London.
