Man jailed for having explosive instructions
A young man who had bomb-making instructions on his computer was caught out by alert council workers, a court heard yesterday.
Iain Tait, 26, who has learning difficulties, was jailed for four months at Dingwall Sheriff Court after it was heard that council workmen fitting new heating in his parents’ home in Conon Bridge saw the information on his laptop while working in his bedroom.
Tait, of 42 Windsor Place, pleaded guilty to an offence under the Terrorism Act by downloading, viewing and saving information relating to the preparation of an improvised explosive device between March 27, 2011, and March 10 last year.
