Rivals come together to mourn leading Tory
Leading politicians from all parties joined with the family of former Scottish Tory leader David McLetchie at his funeral yesterday.
Hundreds of mourners packed an Edinburgh church, with Foreign Secretary William Hague and First Minister Alex Salmond among the congregation.
Veteran Conservative Sir Malcolm Rifkind and former Labour chancellor Alistair Darling were also among the prominent politicians at Blackhall St Columba’s Church to pay their last respects to Mr McLetchie, who died last week from cancer.
