‘Wake up, Aberdeen, and grab £50m offer’
Scotland’s first minister has told Aberdeen City Council bosses to “get real” in the wake of a warning that the city could lose out on a £50million donation.
Sir Ian Wood said he would pull his funding pledge by the end of the year – unless the council leaders came up with a “transformational” revamp plan for the city centre.
Last night, Alex Salmond said this should act as a “wake-up call” to Aberdeen’s civic chiefs and added that he did not know of a single council in the world that had “effectively refused millions of pounds of investment”.
