Man in court after gun scare
A man appeared in court yesterday in connection with an alleged gun incident that sparked an armed police swoop on an Inverness housing estate.
James Smith, of Mackay Road, Hilton, Inverness, faces a firearms charge after officers swarmed on to his street on Thursday afternoon.
Fiscal depute Heather Swan said the 63-year-old, who appeared in private, was charged with possessing a firearm without a licence. It is understood more charges may follow.
