Langfield feeds off Aberdeen’s cup success
Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield revealed practice made perfect as the Dons progressed on penalties against plucky Alloa Athletic in the League Cup on Tuesday night.
The 33-year-old was the hero for the Dons when he saved Alloa defender Michael Doyle’s penalty and Mark Reynolds slotted home the winning spot kick after a tense match had finished goalless after extra time.
Aberdeen have been eliminated from the League Cup on penalties by St Mirren and East Fife in the previous two seasons but Langfield revealed he has been eating for free while his team-mates hone their spot-kick skills.
