Bomb scare triggers traffic chaos in town
A BOMB scare caused traffic chaos in a Moray town yesterday.
Vehicles became gridlocked in the centre of Elgin after a crew working on the town’s anti-flooding project uncovered an “unexplained” device on the banks of the River Lossie.
A Royal Navy bomb squad was called to the scene – but it later emerged that the object was a pressure vessel from the former gasworks, which closed in the 1930s.
