Concerns over land needed for new road
Concerns have been raised that Highland Council will be unable to obtain compulsory purchase orders for some of the land needed for the Inverness West Link road.
Councillors rubber-stamped the controversial option six route for the road on Thursday, marking the start of the process of buying up the ground needed to build the new route between the Dores road and the A82 Inverness-Fort William road.
Campaigner Brian MacGregor believes the local authority will be unable to exercise the orders on some landowners however, as he feels it has failed to explore every alternative route, such as a tunnel through Torvean Quarry.
