£3m biomass heating project at Raigmore
Work has started on a £3million project to instal biomass boilers at Raigmore Hospital – which will save the health board about £1million per year.
The wood pellet boilers, which are being installed by Danish firm Weiss, will provide up to 80% of the Inverness hospital’s heating and hot water and will work with existing boilers.
NHS Highland capital planning manager John Hornby explained that a lot of work needed to be carried out on site before the boilers could be installed.
